Purpose

This document records implementation progress for the Just A Thought metadata migration under Content Architecture 1.1.

Migration Standard

Each published post was reviewed against docs/content-architecture.md and normalized using the approved responsibilities:

• categories: editorial Article Type
• collections: reader journey
• tags: specific reusable topics
• series and series_order: intentional reading sequence
• scripture: YAML array of central passages

Published article bodies, filenames, image paths, and URLs were preserved unless a documented repair was required.

Batch Notes

June–August 2025

• Established the normalized front-matter structure across the opening archive.
• Added structured series metadata for Speak Life Over Them.
• Moved camping and outdoor content into the broader creation reader journey.
• Normalized Samatra Thomas as a contributor where applicable.
• Repaired malformed front matter without rewriting published article bodies.

September–December 2025

• Restored September bodies from master before applying metadata-only changes, correcting an earlier accidental body modification.
• Normalized Love & Respect; More Than a Cycle, 10 Skills Every Man Should Have, The Practice of Holy Thinking, and Lead Like This.
• Preserved the .md.md filename anomaly for The Work of Keeping Warm and the Unicode ellipsis filename in Before You Lead Anyone… to avoid changing published URLs.
• Removed obsolete header-image fields, empty optional fields, and residual StackEdit metadata where present.

January–March 2026

• Restored published bodies from master before metadata-only changes.
• Normalized Faith, Wisdom, and the Machine through series order 6.
• Applied the approved Article Types, including reflection, devotional, and bible-study where supported by the finished editorial form.
• Assigned only supported reader journeys from the official collection taxonomy.

April–May 2026

• Migrated all five installments of Known & Loved, preserving series orders 1–5.
• Preserved filenames, image paths, published URLs, and article bodies.

June–August 2026

• Preserved Samatra Thomas as a contributor where applicable.
• Normalized The Honored Vessel, Prepared Before She Needs You, and The Words We Carry across the faith, marriage, and culture reader journeys.
• Removed the stray byte-order mark from The Words We Carry and residual StackEdit metadata from The Honored Vessel.
• Preserved The Daily Death of Pride series metadata on The War Within.
• Corrected front-matter indentation in Turning the Page while preserving its published body.

Validation Checklist

The repository-wide validation pass must confirm:

• Every _posts file contains parseable YAML front matter.
• Required fields are populated.
• categories contains one official Article Type.
• collections contains only official reader-journey values.
• Tags use lowercase kebab case.
• Scripture is stored as a YAML array using standard hyphens in ranges.
• Contributors are stored as arrays.
• series and numeric series_order appear together.
• Obsolete header-image fields and StackEdit metadata are absent.
• No temporary migration scripts or workflows remain in the PR.
• bundle exec jekyll build completes successfully.

Known Deferred Items

These are intentionally outside the metadata migration and should be handled as separate work:

• Editorial quality review
• Voice consistency review
• Paragraph-flow and AI-style writing review
• Cornerstone article expansion
• URL-safe evaluation of legacy filename anomalies
• Collection landing pages
• Related-content and discovery implementation
